Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay & Sacred well of Sta Lucia

   Aside from Taal Basilica located at the town of Taal Batangas, is another church located at Brgy. Labac (also known as Caysasay) . From Taal Basilica I asked a "vendor" where I can found Our Lady of Cassasay Shrine. Take the San Ruiz Step located at Zone 14. The church was built on the foundation of miracle by the image of Our Lady Of Caysasay.

    In 1603, a pious fisherman by the name of Juan Maningcad was fishing in Pansipit River in Taal, Batangas. Captured in his net a little image of the blessed Virgin Mary les than a foot high.He picked it up and brought it home & told it to the authority. The news began to spread like wild fire until it reached the parish priest of the town, and the judge that represented the King of Spain at that time. Without notice they immediately went to Juan Maningcad's house and there they saw the beautiful image of the Mother of God. They knelt down to venerate it.

    In 1611, two women gathering firewood saw the image reflected in the spring water, near the place where it was originally found. They looked up, and saw the image on top of a tall sampaguita bush. The women reported what they saw to the parish priest. The people and the priest concluded that it was the Virgin’s wish to stay in Caysasay. So they built a chapel on the very spot where the image was found.

Galleria Taal

  I just passing by at Taal when I see this sign board GALLERIA TAAL, first I thought it was just an old house in Taal, due to curiosity I stop by & enter the house. Then a lady told me that if I'm interested to look inside. 

Galleria Taal is a vintage camera museum, show casing Manny Barrion Inumerable's vast collection of rare camera from the late 1800's - 1900's. It is also a gallery of Philippine antiquarian photographs of the 1800's.

   This is my first time to see those camera & the land lady told me that the camera are still working & sometimes when visitors came they do demonstrations. A P50 entrance for adult & P20 entrance for student with ID but because that time I'm just alone and passerby I ask to the lady can I enter with my P20 entrance. It such a nice experience as a simple person that like photography.

Re-visiting Taal Church

  This is not my first time to visit Taal Church also known as the "Basilica de San Martin de Tours" one of the largest church on Asia. The only difference from my past visit is I reached at the top of Taal Church, seeing the bell & top view of the church as well as the town proper.
